TWB Students Dance Above The Influence

Students participating in The Washington Ballet at THEARC’s Summer Intensive had the opportunity to be part of The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s “Above the Influence” (ATI) campaign this year.  Adopting ATI’s theme “Be Seen, Be Heard, Be You” for this year’s intensive, TWB at THEARC gave their students the opportunity to learn original choreography before they were featured in a short documentary that highlighted the process of creating the dance with personal interviews with select students.  The students later had the opportunity to premiere the dance at a closing show which was attended by The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s Director R. Gil Kerlilkowske and Deputy Director of State, Local, and Tribal Affairs, Benjamin Tucker.
