A Second Special AfterDark at THEARC

More than 500 guests from the community and all of the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area attended the second annual After Dark at THEARC on Saturday, September 17.  This sixth anniversary celebration of the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC) raised funds to support the facility.  Special guests at the event included Mayor Vincent Gray who was presented with the First Annual Bridge Builder Award by THEARC founder Chris Smith, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Councilman Jack Evans and Councilman Tommy Wells.  Students at The Washington Ballet, the Levine School of Music, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Washington Middle School for Girls at THEARC presented their works to guests during the evening's program.  Guests were also entertained by the Manzari Brothers, Bobby Yang and Chuck Brown.  FEDEX Corporation served as the evening's lead corporate sponsor.
