Building Bridges Across the River Participates in Do More 24

On June 19th thousands of area residents will come together to create solutions to our community’s most pressing challenges by participating in Do More 24.

Last year, 12,000 Do More 24 donors contributed $1.3 million to more than 500 participating nonprofits. This year we hope to raise even more money for our community. Showtime Tuesdays at THEARC is a six week, fun-filled souce of entertainment and education for youth participating in summer camps East of the Anacostia River in Washington, DC. In addition to viewing free movies, the children also participate in a companion literary activity and receive a healthy snack. One of the highlights of this program is that each week, all youth attendees also receive a free book. These books are paired to match the content of the movie, and are a great keepsake. Funds raised during Do More 24 will help to purchase these books, in order to enhance the educational value of our program.

Powered by United Way of the National Capital Area, this innovative, 24-hour online fundraiser will raise much-needed funding for nonprofit organizations like Building Bridges Across the River, working throughout the Washington, DC region.
