Come to PLAYce for Kids Day! Celebrate the grand opening of the new playground at THEARC on October 21 from 11am-3pm. 

We will have fun activities for kids and families including games, music, food and more. Special guests to include DC city officials and players from the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals!

Art Installation ribbon cutting ceremony with the 11th Street Bridge Park

September 29th from 10am-11am 

We are proud to partner with the Anacostia Arts Center on a lighted art installation connecting east of the river neighborhoods to Anacostia Park, the river and the future Bridge Park. Large frames will feature photographs by Ward 7 artist Bruce McNeil. Join us for an official ribbon cutting with councilmembers, sponsors and local VIPs! Short remarks will be held off Aviation Drive at the corner of Good Hope Road SE just inside Anacostia Park.

Building Bridges Across the River is proud to announce our FREE Summer Meal series at THEARC! These meals do not require identification and are free to men, women, and children residing in Villages of Parklands. This opportunity is made possible by the Walmart Foundation and will include delicious, healthy hot meals and fun activities. 

Building Bridges Across the River Announces Father's Day Essay Contest

Building Bridges Across the River is very proud to announce THEARC's very first essay contest in honor of Father's Day! Contest begins Monday, June 12th and ends Tuesday, June 20th at NOON! We will be unable to accept late submissions. Participants must be between the ages of 10-21 and members of THEARC. Priority consideration is given to youth residing in Wards 7 or 8. Be creative and keep it short and sweet (between 200-500 words or roughly 2 paragraphs to two pages).

Brought to you by Martha's Table and the Capital Area Food Bank, these community markets provide no-cost fresh fruits, veggies & non-perishable items!  These markets are open to all, no pre-registration is required! Join us for an afternoon of music, cooking demonstrations and more! While you are here, take a tour of THEARC Farm and learn about other great food and healthy eating programs taking place at THEARC! Mobile Porch Tour Makes Stops Along the Anacostia River

BBAR's non-resident partner, Double Nickels Theatre Company, was established as a reminiscence theatre to celebrate the lives of seniors while they can still hear their applause. It is through gathering these stories from the elders that we are able to research, dramatize, record and preserve the rich culture and history that is to be found in our communities.
